X-tender
an XDS encoder
X-tender encodes information packets into the video signal.
These packets, called eXtended Data Service packets (XDS),
can contain information pertaining to violence ratings, weather
reports, program descriptions, time of day, etc.
The X-tender product is a combination of a Windows based
program along with a rackmount box which plugs into your
PC's serial port.

Complete and Customizable
The X-tender offers everything you need to produce XDS information packets - and more. Choose which information packets are enabled depending on your needs. Selectively send packets for time-of-day, program description, length of program, etc. A viewer of the broadcast, with V-Chip capability, could, for example, block inappropriate programs for children.  [top] [home]

XDS Xtender

Designed to meet the Telecom Act of 96 legal requirements.
The Telecommunications Act of 1996 formally requires V-Chip capability to be implemented in line 21 of the television's VBI. XDS packets have significant benefits beyond simply meeting your legal requirements. The X-tender is the ideal tool to implement V-Chip capabilities throughout the international viewing audience.  [top] [home]
